Barretstown are delighted to announce that Lidl Ireland has far exceeded it’s €1 million fundraising target. Following a successful three year partnership, we are thrilled to receive €1.2 million.
But the good news does not end there as Lidl will be extending the partnership for a further two years and hopes that with the continued generosity and support from their customers, they can strive to meet a similar fundraising target by 2018.
Over the past three years, Lidl’s 3,500 strong workforce have held fundraising events across the country, donating in excess of 7,200 volunteer hours of their time in over 170 events. In addition, Lidl has supported Barretstown by building ‘The Lidl Activity Room’, a new activity space designed to enhance the much loved horse riding activity at Barretstown.
“Each year it costs over €4.8 million to run the programmes at Barretstown – with 3% provided by the Health Service Executive (HSE). Everything, including accommodation, food and medical assistance are provided at no cost to the family. We do not receive on-going funding from the Serious Fun Network – so we rely almost entirely on donations and the fundraising efforts of individuals, community groups and corporate supporters” and Lidl have been so generous in their support.
