Barretstown is thrilled with the incredible response to Dermot Kennedy’s impromptu busk on the balcony of Bewley’s Grafton Street and his shout-out to his thousands of fans there to support Barretstown.
Speaking about Dermot Kennedy’s amazing support, Dee Ahearn, CEO at Barretstown said “Dermot’s surprise gig was just incredible, the atmosphere was electric and has helped to raise huge awareness of Barretstown. We are extremely grateful to Dermot for choosing to support Barretstown as part of his album launch event. He has generously offered to match all the funds raised and so have Universal Music too, so its just amazing. Dermot captured the heart of the country last night and we will be forever grateful to him for his support for Barretstown.”
Dermot added, “What an honour it is to be able to tell you that we raised over €20k for Barretstown at our Dublin busk the other night. This will help so much with the incredible work that the people at Barretstown do, helping children and their families through really tough situations. The generosity of the Irish people is an incredible thing. Thank you for making that night as special as it was, and for looking out for each other while there were literally thousands of people in the street. We have something so special here on our island!!“
A huge Barretstown thanks to Dermot and all the team at Universal Music Ireland for their support and helping to Press Play for children living with serious illness.
