About Us
Using Psychosocial Care To Restore Young Lives
Every young person overcoming serious illness deserves to have their lives restored. This is more than mere survival – they deserve to thrive, to belong, and to live with joy and be the person they were before diagnosis. At Barretstown we are driven by this vision, striving to create a future where children and young people dealing with cancer and other serious illnesses have the opportunity to rebuild and restore their lives and embrace life with optimism and hope.
At Barretstown, we are known for creating magic through our residential camps and outreach programmes. In the medical world, it has a more formal name: psychosocial care.

Barretstown Team
Behind every moment of magic at Barretstown is a dedicated community of people.
Each year, over 2,500 volunteers from all over Ireland and the world give their time to make our programmes possible. Working alongside them are our fully trained and qualified permanent staff — from our programme, medical and outreach teams to HR, finance, marketing, individual giving, corporate partnerships, community engagement and administration. Every single person plays their part in restoring young lives.
