Lots of different people help to make the magic happen here at Barretstown.

The Camp Team

Each year over 2,500 vital volunteers give up their time to support our camps, which simply couldn’t run without them. Working alongside the volunteers are our camp team, who are fully trained and qualified staff who run our therapeutic camps and programmes for children facing cancer and other serious illnesses.

The Staff Team

In addition to the camp and volunteer teams, our staff team manage all aspects of Barretstown, from liaising with our families to fundraising to finance.

Our Activity Leaders

The Barretstown Activity Leaders are the ones that work alongside our volunteer Caras to bring the magic of camp to life! They facilitate all the serious fun activities throughout camp!

Meet the Programme Team

The Programme Team are responsible for the recruitment of staff and volunteers, the design and facilitation of staff and volunteer training and the overall running and development of our programme. Along with our residential camps the team are responsible for bringing the Barretstown experience to other charities and hospitals across Ireland and the UK and expanding our service beyond the gates of Barretstown to children living with cancer and other serious illnesses.

Meet the Senior Leadership Team

The Senior Leadership team head up the core functions within Barretstown: fundraising, finance, HR and operations. They provide the strategic direction for the organisation, along with our Board and sub committees.

Meet the HR Team

Catherine, our HR Director, oversees the HR function in Barretstown, working with the team in managing staff recruitment and employee welfare.

Meet the Recruitment Team

The Recruitment team are the first point of contact for all our families, campers, and volunteers, and can help with any queries you may have about which camp might be best for you.

Meet the Finance Team

Mairéad, Catriona, Breda and Collette look after the vital financial dealings for Barretstown, ensuring best practice in all financial matters

Meet the Medical Team

Based in the friendly Med Shed, Siobhán and the team of trained Paediatric Nurses take great care of all our campers from managing their medication, administering oral chemotherapy to putting plasters on scraped knees. The medical team are supported by a great team of volunteer doctors and nurses during camp.

Meet the Outreach Team

The Outreach Programme brings the hopeful, playful spirit of Barretstown to children and families beyond the gates of Barretstown, visiting hospitals across the country and even overseas!

Meet the Marketing Team

The Marketing team focus on the external communications of Barretstown, with a focus on public relations and brand promotion. Their job to make sure everybody knows what a brilliant place Barretstown is!

Meet the Individual Giving Team

Taking care of our donors is the most important thing for the Individual Giving team. They look after our valuable monthly direct debit donors and organise the vital appeals we run each year to help us keep the gates open. If you have a query about your direct debit or a donation you have made please contact the Individual Giving team today.
