Volunteers at Barretstown are know as Caras, the Irish word for friend. As a Cara, you have a key role in supporting and encouraging each child to take part in all aspects of camp, while making sure they’re safe and supervised at all times. And most importantly you’ll help them have fun!
We are currently seeking volunteers for our Autumn Camps, which run from Friday to Sunday each weekend.
All camp dates and requirements are listed on the application form.
Prerequisites to volunteering at camp
- 19 Years or over
- Complete an Interview
- Complete Garda Vetting
- Complete Reference Checking
Training
As a new volunteer, you will be well supported at camp and undertake our training programme. In advance of volunteering at camp, volunteers must undertake one of the virtual training sessions below and they will also receive additional training on arrival at camp. Dates for training to be confirmed.
