Family Camp

Family camps offer families a supportive environment where families can spend quality time together - supported by a medical team on site should their child require medical attention over the weekend.

Introduction

Family camps offer families a supportive environment where they can spend quality time together supported by a medical team on site, should their child require medical attention over the weekend.

The majority of family weekend camps take place during the spring and autumn months. These camps run from Friday to Sunday. Volunteers arrive for 9am Friday morning for training and team building before the families arrive.

Volunteers are assigned to work with a family for the weekend and also an activity group.  New volunteers are paired with a returning volunteer for guidance.

Each year, charity partners such as the Irish Heart Foundation and the Jack and Jill Foundation come to Barretstown to participate in our programmes  . The Irish Heart Foundation will join us during the spring and autumn this year and the Jack and Jill Foundation will join us this autumn. These camps are Family Camps. You can see the dates on our camp calendar.
