Seven Peaks in Seven Weeks

In 2021, Alan O’Riordan took on the amazing fundraising hiking challenge and raised and amazing €6,000 for Barretstown!

The challenge was to climb 7 Peaks in 7 Weeks, by repeatedly climbing his local mountain in Tipperary, the 479m high Devil’s Bit Mountain (within his Covid lockdown 5km radius) the equivalent of each of the Seven Summits of the World.

Over the course of 7 weeks, every Saturday Alan climbed the equivalent of the highest mountain in each of the 7 continents and culminating in an amazing 18.5 climbs to achieve the peak of Everest on Easter Saturday; raising an amazing €12,000 for Barretstown and Aoibhinn’s Pink Tie charities.

A phenomenal achievement!

20th February – Puncak Jaya (10 climbs) – Australia
27th February – Mount Vinson (10 climbs) – Antarctica
6th March – Mount Elbrus (12 climbs) – Europe
13th March – Kilimanjaro (12.5 climbs) – Africa
20th March – Denali (13 climbs) – North America
27th March – Aconcagua (14.5 climbs) – South America

Thank you, Alan and all who supported and donated!
