Helping Hands at Barretstown

By booking a Helping Hands work day, your company will help prepare our camp’s beautiful 500 acre site for the arrival of our campers and families. Our corporate supporters have used this unique programme as an extraordinary team building opportunity.

Barretstown Helping Hands Days can be held during the week, all year round on days that our camps are not taking place. Volunteer tasks and projects include: landscaping, housekeeping, cottage preparation, trail maintenance, painting, spreading mulch, mending fences, and organising programme areas. Helping Hands workdays generally run from 10am-4pm and all participants receive an introductory talk and tour.

Helping Hands Days are reserved exclusively for corporate supporters who make a significant financial impact on the mission of camp to rebuild the lives of children affected by serious illness and their families.

Please be aware that Barretstown can only facilitate groups when we do not have children and families on site. The months of May and September are typically very busy for team building visits, as the summer has very limited availability because of our camp schedule. We will do our best to accommodate your group, but the more notice you can give us, the more likely we can secure a date for your team.

Event Volunteering

Barretstown organise a fantastic array of fundraising events each year. We are always looking to recruit staff from our partners to give their time and help out in any way that they can. So, if you fancy yourself as a marshal at our Dublin Mountains Challenge, correcting the questions at our Corporate Quiz or selling raffle tickets at our Family Fun Day, we have a job for you and your colleagues.

Whether it’s helping us pack envelopes, making up goodie bags or getting involved with our annual Magic Makers Christmas appeal by helping us make phone calls - we can provide you with ways to help Barretstown without leaving your office!

Amundi – providing funding and volunteers to Barretstown since 2006

How we work together:

Each year Amundi sponsor a family weekend camp to the value of €50,000. They also support this generous donation by encouraging their employees to volunteer at their sponsored camp.

Amundi staff support many Barretstown events and initiatives throughout the year such as our Helping Hands Day, Corporate Quiz, Annual Sports Day and Golf Outing.

Since the partnership was formed, we have welcomed over 250 Amundi volunteers in various capacities here in Barretstown.
